There’s nothing quite like that moment you flop into bed… the hush, the softness, the unconscious exhale your body gives.. It’s grounding and feels like an effortless release of the day.
But the bedding world didn’t always reflect that feeling. There are great doona brands out there don't get me wrong. However, many still sit within the same familiar materials: cotton blend shells, feather and down blends to keep cost lower, polyester blends and the traditional “Premium Australian Wool” narrative. Wool has its strengths, of course, but its weight is often sold as luxury while down has long carried the stigma of cruelty and poor industry practices. This stigma is real. A lot of down on the market simply isn’t ethically sourced. it's upsetting so say the least that we can't bring these inhumane practises to an end. It's certainly possible.
With my background in bedding, interiors and design, I knew I could change that. I wanted to create a premium, airy doona that honoured the materials without compromising ethics. No harmful chemicals, no mistreatment, complete traceability, honest highly breathable materials to create a beautiful night’s sleep was the mission.
I approached it the way any designer would: I questioned the assumptions, rethought what felt dated and merged years of product expertise into clarity, simplicity, lightness and comfort.
That’s how Puff came to life: a doona created with care, ethics and a design-led, future-focused approach to what bedding can and should be.
Redesigning Comfort from the Inside Out
I didn’t want to make “just another doona.” I wanted to redesign the entire experience the feeling, the lightness, the breathability, even the annoying parts (like hunting for the size tag!).
So Puff was built around a single vision:
A doona that feels weightless, regulates your temperature naturally, drapes softly, looks cosy and best of all lasts.
To get there, we didn’t follow trends. We followed principles:

Breathability: no heat-trapping, materials that allow air flow.

Thermal efficiency: warmth because of loft, not bulk.

Material honesty: no nasties, blended feather/down or synthetics

Longevity: a doona that retains its performance for years
Every design choice had to make one thing better: the way the doona feels when you use it.
Inside the Puff
This is where the refinement happens and the details that seem simple but are anything but..
Why not 100% you say? Well, down is a naturally sourced material, so a small amount of other animal content is unavoidable. Infact, 100% pure down simply doesn’t exist. At 95%, Puff uses the industry’s highest recognised gold standard for premium down.
Our 800 Fill Power down is where the magic happens. Higher fill power means better loft, better insulation and far less weight. In simple terms: it traps more warm air with less material. So you stay cosy without the heaviness that most doonas rely on.
Patented Puff System Structure
Traditional doonas use box stitched channels that let the filling move and the reason you get cold spots. Puff uses a patented chamber system that minimises down movement. Even warmth. Less shifting. No cold patches.
Soft, breathable, quiet and durable. A natural 'no nasties' fabric designed for the human body not a polyester blend designed for manufacturing efficiencies.
